Nursing Home Music Ministry
Several individuals from our church participate with others in the community in a nursing home music ministry. A group of musicians and singers gather every Tuesday afternoon at Summit View of Farragut to sing and play mostly hymns for the residents gathered in their dining room. A short devotional is also presented for them.
Many of the residents enjoy singing along, and the music seems to bring back some memories for them. In addition to hymns, there are songs from Broadway hits, old pop and country hits, songs for the various holidays, and fun songs. Some instrumentals are sprinkled in from flute, guitar, piano, and accordion.
If you are interested in serving in this ministry, please contact Regina Stinnett at [email protected]. Summit View is located in Farragut at the northeast corner of Kingston Pike and North Hobbs Rd.
