Fellowship House Work Day
This Saturday, February 4th at 9:00 AM

Thanks to everyone who participated last week in preparing the fellowship house and garage for the work needed to bring it to code!!! We got a lot of prep work accomplished.
This Saturday, beginning at 9:00 AM, we are in need of as many men as possible. Our plans are to cut new door openings in the house, sheet rock the bathroom and erect a support wall in the basement. Please bring gloves and your hand tools.

Youth Super Bowl Party

This Sunday, February 5th, at 6:00 PM, the
youth will gather for fun and fellowship at the
home of Randy and Lori Stevens. Bring your favorite snack, special dish or dessert to share with your friends or foes, depending on which team you'll be pulling for. Don't forget to invite a friend!!
For more information or directions to the Steven's house, contact Randy Stevens or Ben Crocker.

Valentine's Dinner
Saturday, February 11th at 6:00 PM

We currently have reservations for 92 adults and 13 children. In order to provide the caterer, Blue Sky Cafe, with the number of people attending, the cut off date for reservations is this Sunday, February 5th.
We have some exciting items for our silent auction this year, including movie tickets, restaurant gift cards, jewelry and a netbook just to list only several. This is the largest fund raiser for the year for CPW (Cumberland Presbyterian Women of our Church). The proceeds from the event will help fund the many mission projects CPW has planned for the year.
You may call Regina Stinnett or Lisa Ingmand to reserve tickets, or see them after church on Sunday at the reservation table set up in the Narthex.

Inky Johnson Sunday, Feb 12th 6:00 PM
Young's Chapel CP Church

Young's Chapel CP church, located at 1705 Lawnville Rd., Kingston, Tn., is inviting the youth, and anyone else who is interested, to join them at their church to hear the story of Inky Johnson. Inky is a former UT football player injured during a game against Air Force Academy in the fall of 2006 that ended his hopes of an NFL career.
His story is especially appealing to young people who desperately need to see examples of how faith in Christ is real and can carry you through the struggles of life. There is no cost to attend.
If you would like to attend, please call the church office, 988-8522, no later than Wednesday, February 8th, in order for Young's Chapel to know the approximate number of people attending.

Mission Opportunity "Bible and a Buck"

You are asked to bring a new or gently used Bible with a dollar bill {also referred to as a buck} placed inside the front cover of each Bible. These Bibles will be sent to the Bible Foundation, a Scripture distribution ministry, in Oregon who will in turn send them to African countries, Pakistan, Philippines and other countries through out the world that desperately need Bibles printed in English. The dollar bill will be used for shipping cost.
You are asked to bring the Bibles by February 14 and place them in the white wicker container in the Narthex.

Vacation Bible June 3-7 Update

Hope you are marking your calendars for VBS this year!! The dates are June 3rd - 7th with the big finale of fun on Friday the 8th. Our theme is "Great Adventures Waterpark". We will be learning about God's love, worship, giving, forgiveness and witnessing. Please prayerfully consider volunteering to teach the children one of these nights, you will be blessed!! Pastor Jeff will be teaching the lesson on worship.
This year we will be dividing the groups differently. The classes will be by age which will help in planning the lessons according to the specific age. The older children, age 10 and up, will be doing the skits along with the help of the youth. You won't want to miss this!!! We are looking for ideas, and a leader to teach the adult class. If you know of someone, or if you would like to lead, please let Tanda Solomon know.
If you wish to volunteer for anything else, please see Tanda or Hayley Evatt
